Knifemaking

I owe you an explanation for this one.

I think it started at the age of 16, when I would take appart our knives at home and get rid of those ugly black plastic handles, slap some pieces of wood onto the blade, and try to shape them into a new more comfortable handle. At that point, I don't think I understood what made a handle pretty, or what wood I should be using and for what reason, and I'm still unsure as to what makes a handle comfortable at the hand.

After the second time, my parents had enough of me taking appart their nice knives, so I had to make my own blades. I had a neverending world of knowledge awaiting, without mentioning the mountain of materials to acquire just to get started, but it just felt like the logical next step.

In this journey, I condensed and applied over a thousand hours of youtube videos or reading papers on metal hardening. After all that hard work, I hope you dont mind if I use this section to type up as much as I know (and remember) which you are free to check out ;)
